Jan Vantomme will talk about some interactive installations and live visuals he’s worked on.

Aster De Valck will talk about responsive architecture. He has built kinetic structures that respond to sound or light. Here’s a preview of his work:

 

Workshop

Jan Vantomme will teach a workshop about Processing 2, based on some of the recipes from the Processing 2: Creative Programming Cookbook he wrote for Packt Publishing.

Share&&Tell

For this session we have not planned a talk but we invite all participants to share some work and tell us what you want for the next Processing Ghent events.

 

Workshop

Corneel Cannaerts will do a gameMOD workshop. You are kindly invited to hack/mod/mess-up a small game written in processing. More info and the source code of the game will be uploaded here soon. EDIT get the source here!.

The workshop was inspired by the work of Steph Thirion:

It’s been a while since there was a Processing Ghent meeting due to all kinds of reasons. The good news is that there will be a new one on 26 April 2012. The event will be FREE, just like the last time. If you want to participate in the workshop, you should bring your own laptop. Talk

Robin Steyaert will present his master thesis project: Conflict and Failing Methods of Architecture.

 

Workshop

Frederik Vanhoutte will do a workshop about Object Oriented Programming. You’ll learn the basics of OOP in Processing. Frederik will use Bubble Chamber by Jared Tarbell, as a case study. The Bubble Chamber was created in 2003 with Processing 067, one of the early alpha versions of Processing. People starting out with Processing at that time learned a lot from Jared’s code. Make sure you check out his other work like Substrate and Intersection Aggregate on the Complexification website..

Meeting 002

It’s time to announce the new Processing Ghent meeting. The format of the meeting will be similar to the previous one. We’ll have two short talks and a workshop. The event will be FREE, just like the last time. If you want to participate in the workshop, you should bring your own laptop. It would be good if you can install Processing before coming down to the venue.

Talks

Jan Vantomme (@vormplus) will talk about colorLib, a library for Processing that enables you to use colors from Kuler, COLOURLovers and calculate gradients to use in your sketches.

Frederik Vanhoutte (@wblut) will talk about Hemesh, a 3D mesh library for Processing. You can use this library to create crazy 3D objects and export them for 3D printing.

Workshop

Bert Balcaen (@bertbalcaen) will do a workshop covering the basics of Processing, you’ll learn how to get started with generative design.

Meeting 001

We are happy to announce that the first Processing Ghent meeting will be on Thursday 7 July. Corneel Cannaerts (introspector) will talk about using code in his creative practice, and Jan Vantomme (vormplus) will give a workshop with some examples from the Processing Month he did in May. This event will be FREE.

If you want to participate in the workshop, you should bring your own laptop. It would be good if you can install Processing before coming down to the venue. It would also be good if you could let us know that you are coming and tell us about your experience with Processing (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced).
